One of our favorite cruise stops is Cozumel.. For an inexpensive day at this port visit Chakkanaab park, it has everything you need. The snorkeling at the park is great and you can swim with the dolphins. The also have a jungle you can walk through and see tons of Iquanas and more. The food and drinks at the park are above average.
In 1570, a smallpox epidemic broke out and tho population of Cozumel fell to less than 300. By the year 1600, Cozumel was completely abandoned. Since it was isolated and uninhabited, the famous pirates Jean Lafitte and Henry Morgan used it to hide out.
